The warranty on all our sterndrives has been changed from a one year limited warranty to a three year fault-free warranty. "We believe this new warranty is the best in the sterndrive industry" said Greg Pickren, President SEI. "Nobody that we know of offers a three year fault-free warranty on sterndrives" he added. "After selling tens of thousands of these drives over the past three years and doing extensive testing at our research facility, we are very confident in the product. It's only natural at this point to extend our warranty” stated Justin Webb, SEI's General Manager. The three year fault-free warranty covers any damage to the drive that requires it to be repaired or replaced including failures resulting from lack of oil, fishing line, impact, neglect, and other abuse.

Complete Sterndrives, upper units, lower units, and all gear sets compatible to fit your 1973-1990 MerCruiser's® Alpha One® Sterndrive or Your 1991 and up MerCruiser's® Gen II Sterndrive.

These replacement drives, including all of the internal parts, are fully compatible and interchangeable with the OEM drives. At our low prices, it is virtually impossible to justify spending the time and money to repair a worn-out sterndrive.

All the Sterndrives we sell are made with the following quality control measures:

A Hardness Tester is used to verify case and core hardness of gears and other parts.
For Gear Mesh a Gleason T-6 tester is used to verify mounting distance, backlash and the unloaded contact pattern.
Our spiral bevel gears are cut and tested on Gleason machines. The forward and pinion gears are made form a higher grade alloy to provide for extended life. Gear wear patterns and backlash specs are verified to be within spec.
Our prop and drive shafts are friction welded bimetal. The gearbox end of the shaft is comprised of hardened alloy 8620, while the shaft end exposed to the elements is 17-14PHSS.
